There is no allocated parking. For overnight stays please use Rose Lane or St Andrews multi-storey car parks, both a 5 to 7 minute walk. Castle Quarter car park is fine for a few hours, but not overnight.
Castle Meadow is partly bus only, so the route matters. Follow the green arrows on the map.
Do not drive past The Bell Hotel (the red cross on the map). After that point it becomes a bus gate and you will be fined.
Do not approach via St Stephen’s Road or Theatre Street. Both have bus gates and you will be fined.
This stretch is busy with buses, taxis and bikes, so take it slowly. Once unloaded, park overnight at Rose Lane or St Andrews.
Taxis in Norwich need to be pre-booked, so please book before you travel. Numbers are in the Contact section. The nearest bus stop is Castle Meadow (Stop CA), 1 minute from the main entrance.
Arriving early? Check in from 3pm for £12, subject to availability.
Request early check-in by email | Need somewhere for bags? Stasher has secure luggage storage across Norwich.
Please let us know your approximate arrival time. When you are about 60 minutes away, call or text your host. They will meet you on Castle Meadow with the keys and let you into the building. It is a good chance to ask about the best places to eat, drink and visit.
The fob panel is on your left as you face the door. Hold the fob at the bottom of the panel. It turns green and the door releases about a second later.
To leave the building, press the green exit button by the door.
There are a few steps in the foyer. A stairlift is available for wheelchair users. It needs two people to operate, so please let us know before you arrive. Step by step instructions are just below.
At the top of the steps, go through the fire doors. The stairs on your left take you up four flights to floor 2, or take the lift on your right and select 2.
On floor 2: turn right out of the lift. Near the end of the corridor, take another right through the single fire door. Number 8 is on your left.
For security, the communal areas are covered by a Blink camera. There are no cameras inside the apartment.
This lift takes two people. One person rides. The other, the Helper, stands at the wall control at the top of the stairs and holds a button the whole time the lift moves. It is slow on purpose and stops the moment the button is released. Never get on or off until it has completely stopped.
Will it fit? Platform up to 1250mm long by 800mm wide, maximum 300kg including the chair. Built for wheelchairs. Most mobility scooters will not fit, so if in doubt, measure it and message us before you travel.
The wall control at the top of the stairs
Good to know: one person on the platform at a time, and the Helper never rides. Keep the stairs clear. Children must not operate or play on it. Do not use it if there is a fire.
If it stops mid-way: stay put, it cannot roll or drop. Helper lets go, waits a moment, then presses and holds again. The red button stops it instantly; twist it anticlockwise to release. Do not climb off on the stairs. Call us on 07360 546033, or out of hours 07721 397175.
Bedroom 1: King size bed
Bedroom 2: 2 single beds (default). Prefer a super king? Let us know at least 24 hours before arrival. You will be asked in your pre-arrival form too.
All beds are standard UK sizes.

The router is in the utility room, on the wall in front of you to the left, near the water tank. Not connecting? See Something not working.
Here is a short video on how to control the heating.
Hot water is always on, so there is nothing to switch on. A bath can use up most of the hot water, but it heats back up a short time later.
For your safety the windows have restrictors and only open from the top. There are instructions on each window showing how to open and close it.
To open: turn the handle horizontally to tilt the window open at the top.
To close: push the window shut gently and turn the handle down.
Please do not force the window or try to open it fully, as this will damage it.
Watch how it’s done:
The windows have mirrored film for daytime privacy; at night, with the main lights on, you can be seen a little more from outside. There are 3 fans if you want to cool the apartment.
Both TVs are Smart TVs. Disney+ is provided. You can also sign in to your own Netflix or Amazon Prime account. Please log out before you leave, as Ginger & Gold cannot be held responsible for charges on accounts left signed in.
Instructions for all appliances are here.
Please separate your recycling into the kitchen bins.
The main bin store is on the left as you walk into the building (on the right at the bottom of the stairs as you leave). The lock code is CX124Y. Take the code with you, as you will need it to get back in.

Our star rating guide
Airbnb stars don’t work like hotel stars. A 4-star hotel is a great hotel, but on Airbnb anything under 5 stars tells the platform something went wrong. Here’s how the scale actually works:
| ★★★★★ | A great stay, everything as expected |
| ★★★★★ | Some things need improving |
| ★★★★★ | There were real problems |
| ★★★★★ | Serious problems with the stay |
| ★★★★★ | This place shouldn’t be listed |
If anything wasn’t 5-star, please tell us before you leave your review, so we can put it right. Message us
